His Story
Christian de Medich was the second son of the de Medich family, powerful nobles in the Gaysir Empire. He also had a brother, Albatini de Medich, who was older. When we first meet Christian, he's 18 years old, and an elite member of the Imperial Army. His brother Albatini was very close to the Empress, and I assume he was high ranking. Despite being rather famous in the army, Christian led a pretty ordinary life.
However, not all was to remain as it was for long. At Inferno, Christian uncovers a plot by Albatini to kill the Empress (I'm not sure why Albatini wanted to kill the Empress, since he loved her very deeply). Despite being a positive and cheerful guy, Christian thinks of his duty above all else in Part I, and, as such, doesn't think twice about killing his brother to prevent him from killing the Empress. This would later become known as the "Inferno Incident".
After doing his job and killing Albatini, Christian was wracked with guilt, and his family was generally not happy with him. It was about this time that he was offered a position in the ISS (the Imperial Secret Service, founded because of the Inferno Incident, it serves the Empress and no one else; they are free to use any resources in the kingdom as they see fit, and members are limited to elite soldiers of the army). Upon joining the ISS, Christian is teamed up with a valkyrie named Joan Kartright.
Joan and Christian team up with a man named Iron Mask to prevent Beramode from doing the unthinkable: blowing up their home world, Antaria. Saladin also teams up with them at some point. In the end, however, Beramode succeeds with the Angra Mainyu, which destroys Antaria. Joan, Christian, and Saladin escape in a ship called the Lightbringer. Part I ends.
At the beginning of Part II, Christian, Saladin and Joan travelled through time (so I've been told) and ended up on Arche. When they awake, however, they are in a different place. When they left Antaria, they were on the Lightbringer, but when awakened, they had been rescued by a guy named Jason, and he explained that he had found them on a ship called the Bluebird, not Lightbringer.
Bluebird had been heading to a certain destination, but it was attacked, and crashed, according to Jason. Everybody on board died except for Christian, Joan and Saladin, because they were in stasis-sleep. Christian and the others start looking for the Lightbringer, and at the same time, they need to accomplish what they came to Arche for: find Beramode, and prevent him from leaving Arche.
In order to survive in Arche, they needed to find jobs. They become Core Hunters, which are sort of like mercenaries. As Core Hunters, they'll earn enough money to buy a spaceship and pay for expenses on Arche, and possibly pick up information on Beramode. However, Christian is against this plan, saying that he can't just go off and do mercenary work; he can't waste time when he needs to find Beramode. Joan, on the other hand points out they need to face reality first -- she's also kind of money hungry. So, Joan and Christian don't get along all that well.
They finally tracked down some records on the Bluebird, and one thing jumped out at them: Beramode. Beramode had hired the Bluebird to carry them.
Around this time, Christian and the others meet Embla, and Saladin parts with them to help Embla because she sort of resembles Sherazard (find more information on her at "Saint Sherazard"), and he also agrees with her resistance activities. Christian and Joan continue looking for Beramode.
Unable to find Beramode, they stumble upon Dr. K on the planet of Gabriel. Dr. K believed that Gabriel will be destroyed from the inside by a chain explosion. He also tells Christian and Joan that he can't persuade people on the planet to evacuate; they just won't believe his crazy claims.
Joan suggests that she and Christian will pretend to be pirates so that the citizens would get scared and leave the planet. Everything works out fine until Christian's shuttle breaks down, and he is stuck on Gabriel. He contacts Joan, but tells her that everything is all right. Joan, however, gets a bad feeling, and goes to rescue Christian. It is around this time that they express their love for each other, and shortly thereafter they get engaged (or, so I've been told).
All this time, Saladin has been helping Embla, and now he needs help, so he contacts Joan and Christian. After working together for a while, it happens that Saladin is in a battle with Embla and they got caught in a spaceship, unable to escape. Knowing that they can't get out themselves, Saladin radios out for help. Joan got the message first and transported to where Saladin was (Christian couldn't transport, doesn't seem he has that ability, and was left behind). Joan transports right into the line of fire and ends up blocking Saladin from being killed, but in turn, was killed herself.
Christian, of course, blames Joan's death on Saladin, and swears vengeance. After Joan's funeral, Christian attempts suicide, but just before he can, Ashurei appears on the scene and suggests that Christian could get back at Saladin (Ashurei is the main bad guy of the game, from what I've been told). Ashurei takes Christian under his wing.
Some time later, Christian gets his chance for vengeance, and he battles with Saladin. Christian takes Embla hostage, quoting "an eye for an eye". He assumed that Saladin loved Embla, and that by taking her life, Saladin would feel the same pain that he had when Joan died. Of course, Saladin doesn't love Embla; he could never love anyone but Sherazard. Somehow, Saladin saves Embla, but Christian kills Saladin anyway. He shoots Saladin, then keeps firing at his dead body, again and again and again. This scene shows how much Christian changed after the death of Joan, because he was always a generally happy person before, but now he's just cold-blooded. After finishing with Saladin, Christian tries to kill Embla as well, but Demian shows up just in time and slices Christian's arm off, giving Embla time to escape. Demian (who is in fact Christian's brother Albatini) lost his memory, and doesn't recognize Christian. Christian also doesn't realize that Demian is his brother.
Christian gets himself a replacement arm (as seen in the Hydelloon pictures) that has big blades sticking out of it.
So, of course, Christian is assuming that Saladin is gone for good. However, through Embla's 'doll' technology, Saladin was able to be revived. When Christian finds this out, Ashurei suggests that he join the army, so that if he kills Saladin in public, he'll be justified, and won't have to worry about the laws. Christian accepts, and this is the end of his involvement in Episode I.
In a sort of side-track, it would seem that Ashurei had more of an interest in Christian than is let on in this profile, and that he actually wanted Christian in a romantic way. I don't know yet if this is actually in the game, or if this is just a bishounen pairing made up by fans. Either way, it's intriguing.
In any case, in Episode II, Christian returns at Hydelloon, and his goal, as it was in the beginning, is to prevent Beramode from leaving Arche. When Beramode was close to escaping, Hydelloon tries to kill him, and a battle ensues; Hydelloon was heavily wounded. Despite the fact that he's dying, he still tries to finish Beramode off. Again, Demian appears just in time, and stops him. This time, Christian recognizes Demian for who he really is: Albatini de Medich, his older brother he'd killed so long ago at Inferno. Needless to say, this shocks Christian quite a bit, and he's confused as to why Demian is helping Beramode. Demian also recognizes Christian, but by this time, it's too late.
In the end, Beramode lives because of Demian. Laying together, dying, Demian talks to Christian about how, when they were younger, they had always been together like this, but as they grew up, they'd grown apart. Christian dies in Demian's arms, and Demian dies shortly thereafter. Christian's last words are "Joan, I'm coming to you..."
His Clothing
Christian wears a white, form-fitting, sleeveless shirt, which appears to have padding inside (perhaps it's bullet-proof?) with a high neck line. The shirt also has the ISS Logo on the left chest. His pants are white with an intricate design along the legs, and are quite loose-fitting. On his hands, he wears white gloves that seem to have an open part on the back of the hand. Also on his right hand, he has a metal ring that completely encircles his wrist. Around his waist is a belt that has his gun holsters at the back, which have a long orange belt dangling from them. Finally, his shoes are white with dark, chunky soles, and white laces. I want these shoes!
When he joins Ashurei's side, and calls himself Hydelloon, his appearance changes. He wears a large white coat like Ashurei's, with four buttons at the neck. Moving down, we'll notice that his body is now wrapped in strips of cloth. I don't know the purpose behind this, though it does give him a mummified appearance (perhaps he was badly wounded in the battle with Saladin, and needs these as bandages?) On his right arm (which is a replacement he received after his run in with Demian), he has big spiky things -- blades of some sort, maybe for use in close combat. Again, there's a belt that would have holsters and a place to hold ammo. He wears gloves on both hands that, like the spikes, look as though they're actually part of him, not something he's wearing. Coming off his belt is a long piece of fabric that hangs between his legs, and has buttons on either side of it. As with before, he wears loose pants, only now they are plain charcoal grey. Finally, his shoes are black, with chunky soles again, but instead of laces, they seem to have big buckles on them.
